When you enroll in the Builder’s Academy Inspector’s Courses, you will not even have to quit your job. You will then have the freedom to study at your own pace – in your spare time - or study full-time to graduate as quickly as possible. Our Inspection Courses are approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission.
New education requirements will become effective March 1, 2021. You must complete these courses and file your inspector application with the Texas Real Estate Commission by June 30, 2021 to receive credit for these courses towards your inspector license. Education submitted under Section 535.212 will only be accepted to satisfy the requirements for licensure if started before March 1, 2021 and must be completed and submitted in conjunction with a real estate inspector or professional inspector application filed by June 30, 2021. Effective March 1, 2021, qualifying courses (Modules) as described in Section 535.213(g) thru (i) of TREC Rules will be required.
How do you get started?
First, decide how you would like to enter the profession. The Texas Real Estate Commission offers several avenues to obtain your license to become a home inspector. Go to their website at https://www.trec.texas.gov proceed to the Home Inspector tab and decide which method is the best for you to enter the profession. Once you've determined the amount of education required, come back here and choose from the many options that we have to get you started in the field of Home Inspection.
